Just imagination?

I have just started opening to channel about a week ago, using the instructions and guidelines laid down in the book 'Opening to Channel' by Orin channeled through Sanaya Roman.

I think I've actually connected with my spirit guide. I feel incredibly loved and sort of expanding and my body tingles like electricity is running through me, and I get very loving thoughts telling me everything is fine, and that I am loved immensely. But then sometimes I think it's just my imagination.

I ask my guide to help me strengthen my connection to her, and I'm sure I'm proceeding just fine (that's the thought I get.

Hethball, my question is this - am I actually contacting my guide? Or is it all just my imagination?

No, it is not just your imagination, especially when the feelings are as strong as appear to be coming thu in your words. That is how guides communicate with you, they put the thought into your head, you just have to recognize with practice the energy source from where they are coming. One thing we do is ask our guides to bring something to us 3 times. That way, we can call it our imagination twice and try to disregard it, but when it comes back the third time, guess what? As them to do this for you and the will be glad to. After a while, you will recognize where these things are coming from and it will not take 3 times. In my opinion, you are absolutely on the right track, just keep it up and you will encounter rewards that you did not know existed. Good Luck, Stay with it.
